The biggest shortcoming of the 3 in 1 machines is the constant setting up and breaking down setups from lathe to mill or vice versa. Right now I have my machine setup for a milling job with the mill vise indicated in.

Option 1; Replace hp motor ( the newer motors are much better than the early ones), replace control board, and upgrade to the duel pulley set up. Cost approx. Option 2; Upgrade to a the new 2 hp brush less motor with controller.
